That long ago a People would often Smudge very early in the morning facing the Rising Grandfather Sun to the East Wind.

They would often seek out where Water met the Sky, at a lake or river.
When the Sunrise was halfway on the horizon.

This is the Sacred time they would Smudge, when a representation of both the Spirit World and this World would meet.

Where Water met the Sky, where Darkness now turned to Light, where Spiritual Dreamworld met with this World.

It was at this Sacred time, at this half way meeting, that there is a special connection to Self and the Creator.

I offer here my personal advice and views towards the Sacred Smudging Ceremony.

When receiving Spiritual Guidance it is Native custom to offer and receive Tobacco as a Gift of gratitude.

Because of the long distances involved between People it is often impractical to offer Tobacco.
​Laws governing Tobacco also make it impractical to ship across international borders.
